We will miss you Matt Burnett

Here is an e-mail that my dear friend Christine sent me on Monday:

Dear Friends and Family,

Matt passed away Sunday night at 6:15 pm. We've known this was coming for a long time, and as the end drew near he needed to go, but it was so very hard to say goodbye. We love him! We'd just finished taking a picture for each of the kids as they gave him a hug and kiss and they went off to play. Matt's parents and mine were all still in the bedroom with me and him as he took his last breaths. It was really special. I felt him here so close last night, giving comfort. I can see his beautiful happy smile, and I know that he is well and will be busy while he waits for us to join him.

Thank you all for your emails, your prayers, and your love. Somehow those things travel well.

It has been such a blessing to be here with family these last months, but one draw back is that so many of you won't have the opportunity to attend the funeral. I'm attaching his obituary and a song I wrote for him.
We are creating a special memory book of Matt for the kids. They've known him only as children, and I think it will be important for them to get to know him better through you. We would appreciate knowing some of your best memories by email--or handwritten would be even better, as long as we can read them. :)

Christine and kids

I wish I could be with my dear friend at this time. I know how much losing someone you love hurts. There is comfort in knowing that we will see Matt again. Our prayers go out to Christine and her beautiful children.
